What can you do for me that I can’t do for myself?
We all have our own comfort zones where life works for us…..to some extent. You stay in your job even though you’re bored, unchallenged and frustrated because it pays the bills…. you keep saying yes to the late nights your boss is asking you to work, because you’re afraid of what might happen if you say no…..you don’t go for a promotion at work because you feel you might not actually be good enough…..
The downside of a comfort zone is that you can find yourself simply existing rather than actually living your life. You push all your dreams and ideas to the back of your mind as you spend all your time and energy trying to juggle the numerous responsibilities and obligations of your busy life. You’d love to change things, break the cycle, start living the life you dreamt of….but you don’t have the time, space or confidence to even begin to think about where to start!
That’s where a coach can help you – by providing you with a confidential environment, good listening skills, the right questions and an unwavering belief in your ability to achieve your goals - your coach will help you step out of your comfort zone into a fulfilled and satisfied life.
What can you do for me that I can’t get from family, friends and colleagues?
Coaches provide a non-judgemental, unbiased and totally confidential environment where the focus is totally on you. We have no agenda for you – we simply believe in you and your potential. We will not tell you what you should do – our approach is non-directive, after all… you are the expert on you – and we will not silence you as we recount our own experiences. We give you the opportunity to be completely honest and open.
With coaching, it’s all about you!
What benefits can I get from Coaching?
Coaching can benefit all areas of your life by helping you to challenge yourself through setting and achieving more rewarding goals. Because these goals will be based on your own set of values and beliefs, you will have more confidence in the decisions that you make that lead you towards your goals. Stress levels will diminish as you will feel more in-control of your own life and, through becoming more aware of what is important to you, you will understand where and why previous frustrations arose.
As a result, your relationships at home and at work will improve, as will your overall performance. It’s hard to put a price on that but what wouldn’t you pay to have the fulfilled and satisfied life that you want?
What benefits can my business get from Coaching?
Adding coaching to your organisational portfolio will enhance the workplace environment, improve employee retention and create competitive advantage.
Coaching is tailored to the aims, objectives and needs of the client and the organisation. A coach provides an impartial, independent party within an organisation and it is this unique perspective that contributes to the success of the coaching solution.
Whether your focus is on building your own business, formulating a vision and action path for an organisation or developing employees or management skill set, a coach can work with you to achieve the success and progress that you desire and strive for. See our Services page.
How is Coaching delivered?
Coaching can be delivered face-to-face or over the telephone, whichever method the client prefers. The majority of coaching is, however, telephone coaching as it is very powerful allowing the focus to be on the content of the session without distractions.
In the busy world in which we live, it can also save time for you, not to mention travel costs. It also means that you can be coached anywhere at any time.
How can you coach me if we’ve never even met?
Meeting your coach is not essential – sometimes it’s actually easier to talk to someone who you’ve never met and who’s never met you. However, if you feel that you would like face-to-face coaching, that option is available to you – simply let us know when you contact us. What is essential is that you feel comfortable with your coach, that you feel that they are someone with whom you can be honest and develop rapport with over the course of your coaching relationship.
So, whether in person or over the telephone, the first session that you have is an opportunity for you and your coach to decide whether the rapport exists. This introductory session lasts 30 minutes and is free of charge. If either party feels that there would be a greater benefit to the client in using a different coach, we will do our best to identify another coach for you.
How long do I need Coaching for?
We work with clients for as long as it takes to get a positive result for them. Change takes time – coaching is not a quick fix – but any timetable will be created with your total involvement and agreement.
When deciding with you on the length of time that you would like to be coached for, we will encourage you to allow time to try out your new techniques and implement the desired changes into your life.
We also take into account the benefit that you are receiving from the coaching relationship – some clients continue sessions with their coaches even after they have achieved their original goals. After all, everyone can benefit having a person in their lives who is totally unbiased in their opinions and can look at things with fresh eyes!
The length of each programme therefore changes with the needs and desires of each individual client.
What time commitments will it take?
Again, time commitments are personal to each client however, a coaching session usually lasts from 45 minutes to one hour on a weekly basis. We ask for a minimum initial time commitment of four 45 minute sessions at a total cost of £240.00 – our basic package. (please call us for details of what is included in this package).
How much does Coaching cost and what do I get for my money?
As with the timetable for coaching, the cost of coaching is bespoke to each client depending on their individual requirements in respect of their budget, the number of sessions they would like, the frequency and length of these sessions, the support level desired between sessions etc.
We provide a free introductory 30 minute consultation but subsequent to this introduction, we do ask our clients to make a minimum initial commitment of four 45 minute sessions at a total cost of £240.00 – our basic package. (please call us for details of what is included in this package).
Our fees are highly competitive and when we quote a fee package for you, it will contain no unwelcome surprises later on!
What is the difference between Coaching and Counselling and/or Therapy?
Coaching is for people who realise that their life is not as they want it and who decide to do something about it. Coaching focuses on achievement and improvement rather than on correction. It is not about treating any medical conditions or about dealing with emotional issues from the past.
With coaching, the focus is very much on the present – looking forward - making it possible for you to take control of your life and set yourself practical ways to transform it to achieve your goals. Coaching does however challenge the beliefs that until now you have allowed to limit your potential.
However, if during the course of coaching, your coach feels that an alternative approach would be more beneficial to you, they will share these concerns with you.
